11/13/24 – Decisive Dedication – Susan Allen
Series: In Depth
Rom 12:1 From Barnes: Christianity doesn’t require a service of physical death or inactivity it asks for vigorous life in service to God   From Jamieson, Fausset, & Brown----a glorious contrast to the legal sacrifices, which, except as they were slain, were no sacrifices at all. The death of the one, 'Lamb of God, taking away the sin of the world,' has swept all dead victims from off the altar of God, to make room for the redeemed themselves, as 'living sacrifices' to Him who made "Him to be sin for us;" while every outgoing of their grateful hearts in praise, and every act prompted by the love of Christ, is itself a sacrifice to God of a sweet-smelling savour (Heb 13:15-16).

FAITH and the IMAGINATION part 2 11/10/24 susan allen Heb 11:1 AMP- NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses]. Gen 11:1-kjv And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.3 And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.5 And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech. Mark 4:23-amp  If any man has ears to hear, let him be listening and let him perceive and comprehend. 24 And He said to them, Be careful what you are hearing. The measure [of thought and study] you give [to the truth you hear] will be the measure [of virtue and knowledge] that comes back to you — and more [besides] will be given to you who hear. NT:991 blepo (blep'-o); a primary verb; to look at (literally or figuratively): * LOOK at what YOU HEAR* Mark 4:23-amp  If any man has ears to hear, let him be listening and let him perceive and comprehend. 24 And He said to them, Be careful what you are hearing. SEEING what WE HEAR. Rom 12:1-kjv  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.           MEMORY is an imagination It can be a blessing or it can be curse on your course Rom 12:1 amp…..make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God

BIRTHED into A FAMILY 10/27/24 susan allen Fall Family Day   Heb 10:23-NIV  Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider (discover, observe) how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. 25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another — and all the more as you see the Day approaching.   AMP: 24 And let us consider and give attentive, continuous care to watching over one another, studying how we may stir up (stimulate and incite) to love and helpful deeds and noble activities, 25 Not forsaking or neglecting to assemble together [as believers], as is the habit of some people, but admonishing (warning, urging, and encouraging) one another, and all the more faithfully as you see the day approaching.   THIS VERSE is instruction FOR YOU PERSONALLY Gal 6:10 kjv As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.   What does “DO GOOD” look like?   Acts 2:36-NIV  "Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ." 37 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?" 38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off — for all whom the Lord our God will call." 40 With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, "Save yourselves from this corrupt generation." 41 Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day. 42 They devoted themselves (constantly diligent, earnest towards, attentive to) to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship (a having in common, contact, association, community) , to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor (grace, good will, loving kindness, that which affords joy, pleasure, and delight, acceptance) of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.   Prov 27:17 NIV As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.   When we were born-again, we were born-again into a family
